About

Dr Subho Majumdar is a technical leader in Artificial Intelligence (AI) ethics, security, and safety who believes in a community-centric approach to data-driven decision making. He has pioneered the use of Responsible AI (RAI) methods in multiple companies, wrote a book, and founded multiple nonprofit efforts in this area—TrustML, Bias Buccaneers, and AVID. In past, his work in the data for good space has driven policy changes in government and nonprofit organizations.

Currently, Dr Majumdar is Head of AI at Vijil, a technology startup on a mission to help enterprises build and operate intelligent agents that people can trust. He is also the President of AI Risk and Vulnerability Alliance (ARVA), a 501(c)(3) nonprofit which is the parent organization of AVID. Previously, Dr Majumdar established RAI practices at Twitch, Splunk, and AT&T. His work has received global recognition through outlets such as MIT Tech Review, Orange UK, the Turing Podcast, and Chicago Tribune.

Dr Majumdar has more than 11 years of R&D experience in AI, ML, and statistics, with 40+ publications and 20+ filed patents (5 granted) to his name. He holds a PhD and masters in statistics from University of Minnesota Twin Cities. Previously, he earned another masters and a bachelors degree in statistics from Indian Statistical Institute, Kolkata, India.
